SPI 02

The SPI 02 is a semi-automatic coiling machine designed to quickly measure and coil wires and cables. Its motorized drive automates rotation, while the operator retains control over cable guidance. The adjustable speed of up to 70 rpm allows the winding process to be adapted to the various cross-sections being processed. The built-in length measuring device tracks the length produced directly from the operator station.

Technical specifications

The SPI 02 is built around a fully enclosed mechanically welded frame that incorporates the winding shaft, the motor, and the control components. The rotation area is accessible through a front door and an upper cover, both of which open.

The drive is provided by a 0.37 kW gearmotor controlled by a variable-speed drive, with an adjustable speed ranging from 0 to 70 rpm. The cable passes through an integrated measuring device and then through a manual guide system that distributes it across the support.

The machine accommodates reels up to Ø600 mm, 350 mm wide and weighing up to 70 kg. Mounted on 4 casters, it can be easily moved and secured in place at the workstation.

03. 2 winding modes - Coil or reel

On a reel: the cable is wound directly onto a reel installed and centred on the motorised shaft. As a coil: a dedicated coiling head forms the cable directly into a coil, ready to be removed and packaged.

Procedure / Operation

1 – Installation	Open the protective enclosure and install the reel or coiling head on the motorised shaft.
2 – Cable setup	Feed the cable through the length counter and guiding system, then secure its end to the winding support.
3 – Settings	Reset the length measurement to zero and adjust the rotation speed to suit the cable.
4 – Safety	Close the winding area before starting rotation.
5 – Winding	Start winding and manually guide the cable to distribute the turns evenly.
6 – Monitoring	Track the produced length using the length counter and stop the machine once the required length has been reached.
7 – Unloading	Cut the cable, open the protective enclosure and remove the full reel or finished coil.
