What is a wire dispenser?

A wire dispenser is a device used to unwind and store wire, particularly electrical wire. It keeps wires clean and organised while making them easier to use around a central axis.

In the electrical sector, a wire dispenser, also known as an unwinder, is an installation used to feed a machine with the wires required for production. The spools are stored in a dedicated area to ensure regular and controlled unwinding.

Technical characteristics of a wire dispenser

The wire dispenser is automatic and can be pneumatically connected to the machine. It is compatible with all Mecaspin pre-wiring machines. The associated unwinding bench consists of 12 reels, arranged on two racks of six reels.

The dispenser provides consistent wire unwinding towards the pre-wiring machine, at speeds of up to 3 m/s. Its braking mechanism controls spool rotation and maintains constant tension.

The rapid braking system works with reels weighing up to 30 kg. Using a cylinder and strap, it limits system wear and helps make machine feeding safer.

Spool replacement is quick. One-handed adjustment, provided by three fingers for internal diameters of 80 to 150 mm, ensures precise spool centring.
