The MECASPIN sheath pusher is a semi-autonomous unit that “pushes” the sheath to the pre-wiring machine, increasing the pre-wiring length up to 80 metres. Positioned at the sheath-reel outlet, the sheath pusher communicates with the pre-wiring machine via a MODBUS TCP connection.

Technical specifications

The Mecaspin sheath pusher is a semi-autonomous unit installed at the sheath-reel outlet. It mechanically assists the sheath as far as the pre-wiring machine in order to increase pre-wiring capacity and make it easier for the sheath to travel through the guide tubes.

The pusher communicates with the pre-wiring machine via a MODBUS TCP connection. Its motorised assistance makes it possible to reach pre-wiring lengths of up to 80 metres while improving measurement accuracy over long lengths. It also helps improve coiling performance, with a speed of up to 2.5 m/s.

The U-turn function provides more options for the line layout. In particular, it allows the reels to be moved closer to the operator and creates a more compact installation when the space available in the workshop is limited.

The system also incorporates sheath-reel end detection and helps reduce the load on the machine’s coiling rollers.
