Installation of an automatic pre-wiring unit for electrical wiring harness assembly

Background and requirements

The client, a general electrical contracting company completing around 500 homes per year, wanted to bring the manufacture of its electrical wiring harnesses in-house in order to gain independence and better control its project deadlines. Until then, prefabrication had been subcontracted.
The company was looking for a complete solution that would be easy to learn, both for the design office and for production operators, with a clear objective: to manufacture its own electrical wiring harnesses in-house with a small team.

The solution implemented

The implementation of the MECASPIN solution enabled the client to quickly bring electrical wiring harness production in-house. The design office easily learned how to use the CAD software and generate production files. The operators were quickly trained to use the equipment and production was able to start within just a few days.
With just one dedicated operator, the company now produces all the electrical wiring harnesses required for its 500 homes per year in-house. The solution provides greater flexibility, better control of deadlines and standardised production. The company is more responsive and less dependent on external service providers.
